This weekend was my longest run of my training season. I was scheduled to do 23miles but was feeling so great that I pushed it to 25miles! Yes folks, that's right, I ran one mile short of a full marathon. My legs actually feel great today considering. I have the typical soreness in the bellies of the big muscles but nothing severe or extreme. I would say that I am fit to run the full marathon a month from now.
It's so great to watch your body learn and train to do the race...I started off having my long weekend runs at 7miles and now, here I am running 25miles! Very cool accomplishment and very neat to know that I ran more yesterday than some people drove yesterday haha. More importantly, it is great to know that I might break my time from the past four years, we'll see. Either way, most people say I'm crazy for doing this many miles and on most days I would agree with you but the Dana Farber cancer cause is a great one and it makes all the craziness and pain in the muscles subside.
